Savanna Smith is an aspiring film and television producer. She is currently an executive assistant at Joint Effort, where she works under two executives managing their schedules, calls, and submissions. She also gives creative input on projects and overall manages the office. Previously, Savanna worked at Rabbit Bandini and also did a plethora of freelance work throughout college.
Savanna obtained a Bachelors degree from the largest film school in the nation, Columbia College Chicago in May, 2017. She majored in Cinema Arts + Sciences with a minor in management. Savanna’s practicum film, Girls n’ Boyz E, has recently been acquired by PBS to appear on their television series, “Film School Shorts” (to see it, click HERE). Another film, The Vanishing Act, won Columbia College Chicago’s Take 1 Festival (2015) and was selected to screen at the New York New Filmmakers Film Festival in 2016.
Although she never had an “Ah-ha!” moment of knowing she wanted to be in the film and television business, Savanna is passionate about producing quality material. Whether it’s grounded in raw emotion, or has a comedic tone to it, Savanna wants to make content that resonates with people. She also intends to bring more female driven stories to light.
Outside of work, Savanna enjoys drinking wine and hanging out with her cat. She and her best friend run a wine Instagram account, where their goal (aside from getting paid to drink wine) is to make wine more fun.
